Initial Setup (Onboarding)
After registering a new workspace in the cloud version of Orbita, the initial setup wizard opens — 6 steps that help you quickly get the system ready for work.
You can't skip the wizard entirely: until onboarding is complete, any attempt to navigate to another section sends you back to /onboarding. Most steps inside the wizard can be skipped with the Skip button — the corresponding setting is simply postponed for later.
Step 1. Company name
Question: "What's your company called?"
Enter a name — your colleagues will see it in the system. This field is required. Once filled in, click Next →.
Step 2. Localization
Heading: "Localization."
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Time zone | List of system time zones (defaults to Europe/Moscow) |
| Interface language | Russian or English |
These settings can be changed later in the "Settings" section. Buttons: ← Back and Next →.
Step 3. Organizational structure
Heading: "Organizational Structure." This step is optional — you can configure it later in the "Organization" section.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Legal entity / company name | For example, "Acme LLC" |
| First department | Optional, for example "IT Department" |
If you leave the company field empty and click Skip, no org structure is created. If you enter a name, the company (and the department, if filled in) is created, and the current user is automatically linked to it.
Step 4. Ready-made preset
Heading: "Where should we start?" — choose a ready-made package: entities, menu items, roles, and processes appear as soon as you apply it. This step can be skipped and configured manually later.
The following presets are available:
| Preset | What's included |
|---|---|
| IT Support | Tickets, categories, assignees |
| ITSM (Full) | Incidents, Problems, Changes, Tasks, CIs, Services, Agreements, Approvals, Knowledge base |
| CRM | Customers, contacts, deals |
| HR | Employees, leave, HR events |
| Project management | Projects, tasks, assignees |
You can select several presets at once — preset cards toggle on click. After selecting, click Apply →. Each preset rolls out its own entities, roles, dashboards, and processes; the current user automatically gets the manager role for the corresponding preset.
For a detailed walkthrough based on the "IT Support" preset, see Service Desk (IT Support).
Step 5. Invite colleagues
Heading: "Invite Your Colleagues." This step is optional — you can invite people later from the "Users" section.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Role for all invitees | List of roles (including roles created by the applied preset); you can leave it as "— no role —" |
| One or more addresses — the + Add Another button adds a new field |
Click Send and Continue → to send the invitations, or Skip.
Step 6. Done
The confirmation screen shows a checklist of completed actions: company name, localization, organizational structure (if not skipped), applied data package (if selected), invited colleagues (if sent).
Click Go to System → to finish onboarding and enter your workspace.
Running it again
There's no separate "redo onboarding" button in the interface — the wizard is shown automatically only until setup is marked as complete. All steps (language, time zone, org structure, invitations) remain available later through the regular interface sections: "Settings," "Organization," "Users."
